Family Visits

Finally the roads were good enough that we could travel around to see family.

x-mas day

Oh the weather outside was frightful... but it made for a white Christmas

Elizabeth enjoyed crinkling wrapping paper, and trying to eat it if grandpa didn't watch closely enough.

Uncle Andy spoiled her by getting her a pony for Christmas.

The snow was so bad we didn't dare go anywhere, John had to make friends.

Getting ready for the holidays

We've been in the holiday spirit this week. We decorated the tree, started wrapping presents, bought some egg nog and of course got out the holiday clothes to take pictures of Elizabeth.

Arizona Trip

We flew to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with the Phoenix branch of the Maurer family and so Katie could visit Intuit in Tucson.

Elizabeth did great on her first flight.

The weather was really nice. We enjoyed Sarah and Pete's balcony Thanksgiving Day.

And the pool at Julie's - though Ellie was too little to be allowed in the pool.

Our paths crossed with Dad and we took a hike in Phoenix

Elizabeth and Pappy (trying out new names for Golfy) had a conversation about the golf shot they just saw.

Before flying out again - back to cold weather in St. Louis.

Some time at home

Elizabeth was quite interested in how her Dad's day at work went

We tried the Johny Jump Up - Elizabeth is still a bit too small, but she loved it when I helped so that her feet touched the floor.

What? Pictures without Elizabeth???

Megan got me hooked on Ree Drummond's blog thepioneerwoman.com
It has fun recipes and photography. She was in St. Louis for her cookbook tour, and I attended her book signing at a church downtown.

Hospital Stay

Elizabeth was admitted to the hospital on Friday the 13th, because she vomited blood. She has been fine ever since and her illness is still a medical mystery. Thanks everyone for your prayers!

Nice weekend

We went on a hike at Cliff Cave State Park.

It overlooks the Mississippi River.

Had to do some yard work. Ellie slept through it.

And continued sleeping... on her favorite nap spot.

Grandma and Grandpa Maurer Visit

Golfy and Meme came down to help with the baby so Katie could go back to work. Elizabeth loved all the attention even though the weather was too nasty for extra park time.

Dad put up two ceiling fans for us. (Ellie tried to help read the directions)

Elizabeth thought sewing was fun.

Saturday the rain finally stopped so we spent some time outside.

We walked around City Garden looking at the art.
